A grant program is launched for socially-oriented projects

The Barcelona City Council announces a grant program to promote socially-oriented projects that improve the quality of life for residents in Barcelona’s neighborhoods.

Participation Requirements

Both individuals and legal entities seeking to improve the socioeconomic situation of Barcelona’s neighborhoods, and who have a business or project falling under the following six categories, may submit applications: Category 1: Raising the Shutters. This aims to promote the creation and continuity of ground-floor businesses in neighborhoods that are part of the Neighborhood Plan (consult the call for applications to see which ones). Category 2: Socioeconomic Innovation and Social and Solidarity Economy in Strategic Sectors. The objective is to foster social and solidarity economy projects rooted in the territory. Category 3: Promotion of Quality Employment. This aims to create projects, initiatives, or actions for particularly vulnerable groups who are unemployed. Category 4: Responsible and Sustainable Tourism in the Territory. This seeks to develop projects or actions in the tourism sector, promoting entrepreneurship and responsible businesses. Category 5: Sustainable Food and Responsible Consumption. This aims to develop projects that advance towards a more responsible consumption model and ensure healthy, fair, and sustainable food in the city. Category 6: Last-Mile Urban Goods Distribution Centers. This aims to improve the efficiency of urban goods delivery through the deployment of zero-emission vehicle delivery initiatives.

Grant Amount

Up to 80% of the total budget of the submitted project is subsidized, with a maximum of €40,000 in funded amount. Only for Category 1, the maximum subsidized amount is €20,000 for opening a ground-floor business or €6,000 for active ground-floor businesses.

Submission Deadline
