Autoocupació helps 200 young people create their own companies within the framework of the Young Entrepreneurs Succeed project

4 March 2024

The Private Foundation for the Promotion of Self-Employment in Catalonia, Autoocupació, has participated over the last 5 years in the Young Entrepreneurs Succeed project, YES!, funded by the EEA & Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.

YES! is a European project that aims to establish alliances to design, implement, evaluate, and scale support services for the creation of businesses promoted by young people under 30. The project has been implemented in Catalonia, Italy, Greece, and Poland with the cooperation of experts from Youth Business International and Munich Business School, with a total budget of 3.3 million euros.

Within the framework of the project, guidance and advisory services have been implemented to assess the viability of business projects, training in entrepreneurial skills, support in accessing financing, and guidance for the creation and consolidation of new businesses. This support has been carried out by more than 900 entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals who collaborate with Autoocupació as volunteer mentors.

In 2023, Autoocupació organized the Youth Employment Summit in Barcelona, with the participation of 140 European professionals from the field of youth employment and the entrepreneurial ecosystem to give visibility to the project’s results.

During these 5 years, 980 young people have participated in one of the project’s activities in Catalonia, and the number of companies created in our country is 200, which in turn have created 382 new jobs.
