A grant scheme, named “Social Action in Rural Areas 2024”, has been launched. The objective of this grant is to promote initiatives that address depopulation and its effects, and to boost social action in rural territories, with medium and long-term strategies and dynamics of cooperation and synergy creation.

Areas of action

The aim is to promote the revitalization of institutional and social ecosystems in rural areas, supporting local initiatives. Priority will be given to:
  • Actions that include the empowerment of young people and women
  • Transformative projects aimed at enhancing the social, economic, and cultural value of local resources
  • Initiatives that incorporate digital inclusion as a cross-cutting element.
Among others, projects in the following areas may also be included: socio-labor insertion and support for entrepreneurship, poverty and social inclusion, support for health and well-being, and community participation and social cohesion.

Requirements

This call aims to work in a coordinated and networked manner with all local stakeholders. Therefore, participation of an organization that submits the project with the explicit support of the functional municipality is required.

Execution period and allocation

Actions must be executed within a 3-year period, from 2025 to 2027. Regarding the allocation, it is €100,000 per project (the first year will receive a maximum allocation of €40,000)
