New hiring grants in Barcelona

A new hiring grant program, Crea Feina Plus, is being launched to promote the hiring of unemployed individuals who are residents of the city of Barcelona and belong to groups with special difficulties in finding employment.

Requirements

  • The hired person must be unemployed, registered as a resident in the city of Barcelona, and belong to one of the indicated groups.
  • Contracts must be permanent or for a minimum of six months.
  • Hiring must be full-time, except for at-risk groups, which may be part-time.
  • Contracts signed since January 1, 2023, that remain in effect at the time of application are eligible.
  • The maximum number of hires per organization is 10, and the number of subsidized employees cannot exceed the previous workforce size.

Grant amount

Companies and self-employed individuals participating in this program can receive:
  • Grants of €5,000 for each new contract for young people under 30, women, and those over 45. There is an additional €1,000 bonus if the person hired is long-term unemployed.
  • Grants of €8,000 if the hiring is for groups at risk or in vulnerable situations, such as youth in care, refugees, etc.
