Grants for maintaining the activity of self-employed individuals and micro-enterprises in response to Covid-19

9 November 2020

The Government of Catalonia has approved an extraordinary grant to promote the continuity of the activities of self-employed individuals and micro-enterprises in an unfavorable economic and social context and to mitigate the negative effects they are enduring. Who can apply?
  1. Individuals registered in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers or the Social Security self-employment scheme (RETA), or in a mutual insurance company as an alternative system to RETA, who carry out their economic activity as natural persons. They may not apply for the grant when the total number of self-employed workers, including collaborating self-employed workers, and employees of the business unit is greater than six, based on the 2019 average.
  2. Self-employed workers registered in RETA, or in a mutual insurance company as an alternative system to RETA, who are partners in a company with its own legal personality (with a maximum of 3 partners). Companies with legal personality where the total number of partners and employees is greater than 6 (2019 average) may not apply for the grant.
  3. Partners of worker cooperatives who contribute to RETA or to a mutual insurance company as an alternative system to RETA, provided that the cooperative consists of a maximum of 3 working partners. Cooperatives where the total number of partners and non-partner employees is greater than 6 (2019 average) may not apply for the grant.
What is the amount? An extraordinary and one-off grant is established in the form of a single-payment economic benefit for a fixed amount of 2,000 euros. This grant will be compatible with the receipt of any other grant, benefit, subsidy, or subvention, public or private, intended for the same purpose, except for the grants established in Resolution TSF/1270/2020, of June 3, which opens the call for the granting of subsidies to promote the self-employment of young people registered in the Youth Guarantee program for the year 2020. The benefit may not be subject to transfer, seizure, or withholding. What is the application deadline? The period begins on the morning of November 9, 2020, until 3:00 PM on November 20, 2020, or until the budget allocation is exhausted. To apply for the benefit, it is necessary to have a digital certificate or idCAT Mòbil. It would be helpful if you registered for IdCAT Mòbil beforehand, according to these instructions.
