Leading Organizations in the Labor Inclusion of People with Disabilities

27 May 2026

Training has become a key tool for facilitating access to the labor market for people with disabilities. In Catalonia, an increasing number of companies and organizations are promoting programs aimed at improving employability, adapting professional skills, and creating real opportunities for workforce inclusion.

In an increasingly digitalized and specialized labor market, collaboration between companies, foundations, and social organizations is essential to connect talent with employment opportunities. Below, we present some organizations that exemplify how training, support, and labor inclusion can generate real opportunities:

Inserta Empleo

Inserta Empleo is the employment and training organization of Fundación ONCE, specializing in workforce integration for people with disabilities. Its approach focuses on practical training tailored to the current needs of the labor market, with particular emphasis on digital and technological skills.

As Dolors Garcia Martínez, Director of Inserta Empleo Catalonia, explains, “the organization works on both technical and transversal skills, which are essential today: communication, teamwork, planning, autonomy, and adaptability.” It also provides specialized training in areas such as customer service, logistics, retail, and business services. In addition, initiatives such as Por Talento Digital stand out for strengthening digital skills and ensuring that people with disabilities can access this training on equal terms.

La Fageda

La Fageda is one of the most recognized examples of a social enterprise in Catalonia. Located in the La Garrotxa region, it was founded with the mission of creating employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities and mental health conditions.

Its model combines business activity with a social purpose, integrating people into real productive processes. Beyond creating jobs, it promotes support programs, personal development initiatives, and tailored training so that workers can gain autonomy and long-term job stability.

Prevent Foundation

The Prevent Foundation promotes training, career guidance, and employment integration programs for people with disabilities, in collaboration with companies, social organizations, and initiatives related to employment and entrepreneurship in Catalonia.

Among its initiatives are employment integration pathways, the Learn and Undertake entrepreneurship program, the Nova Scholarships, and Powernauts, an incubator for projects led by people with disabilities. The foundation also promotes training in technological fields such as cybersecurity.

“la Caixa” Foundation

The “la Caixa” Foundation is one of the most active organizations in promoting social and labor inclusion in Catalonia. Through various programs and partnerships with social organizations, it supports initiatives aimed at enhancing employability, training, and equal opportunities for vulnerable groups.

One of its flagship initiatives is the Incorpora Program, which promotes social and labor integration through the joint work of employment integration specialists and partner companies. The foundation also develops awareness-raising actions, accessibility initiatives, and support for labor integration projects to foster more inclusive professional environments.

All of these examples demonstrate that labor inclusion is no longer solely about creating jobs. The key lies in building comprehensive pathways that combine training, support, and real opportunities. Experiences such as those of Inserta Empleo, La Fageda, Prevent Foundation, and the “la Caixa” Foundation show that Catalonia has an increasingly active network of organizations committed to building a more accessible and diverse labor market.

Because when training, support, and opportunities go hand in hand, every person can build their own future and proudly say: “I am what I want to be.”
